A Tuesday Kind of Love
“I want a Tuesday kind of love. The sort of thing that involves little dreaming and scheming; the sort of thing that comes paired with too-strong coffee and too-loud songbirds and the drone of the news at 6 a.m. or any time before the sky finds its identity, really. A Tuesday kind of love that isn’t indulgent, one that doesn’t stop the earth from spinning but maybe keeps us grounded in spite of all that uncontrollable movement.
A Tuesday kind of love is this: commuting to work knowing that someone cares about what you’re going to have for lunch; understanding that you do not have to be your dynamic, charming, weekend self this time; this time you can butcher sentences and make bad jokes and trip over thin air and it won’t change anything. A Tuesday kind of love is when weekends and weekdays are one and the same, expanses of time where unpredictable, irreplaceable closeness exists, swells, bursts. Tuesday is directionless conversation about things that happened five hours or five years ago; it’s knowing where he keeps his receipts and when he has a doctor appointment; it’s ordering Chinese food or taking his parents out for dinner because they’re in town or forgetting to eat because you’re full of each other’s words and there’s just no room for anything else.
I don’t want to dream through our lives together, don’t want to sleep in, don’t want to put on my sunglasses and pretend that life’s a vacation. The fantasy is that I want to exist in reality; the fantasy is to be there for someone on a Sunday morning but also on a Tuesday night, when the haze and laze of the weekend has worn thin and seems far away as ever. I want a Tuesday kind of love.”

The Portraits Experience
Connection & Trust
It’s important that we are on the same page, so I always make it a point to meet every couple before I agree to take them on as a client. We can meet either through a video chat to get to know you both and what makes you tick as a couple and your ideas for the session.
Deciding on the locations & date
With locations, I always encourage you to choose somewhere meaningful - this could be your home, the cafe you had your first date at, or even a garden where you walk home together everyday. I’m also happy to suggest locations. As much as location is important (because light is important), my focus is first and foremost on the connection between you both.
We will schedule in a date that works for you - generally an early morning or late afternoon session would work best so we get the best light. In the event the weather forecast is not looking favourable, I’m happy to reschedule. The Portrait Session
I always tell couples to treat the portrait session as a date that came with photos, rather than a photoshoot. My hope is that you remember our session as a fun afternoon spent with a friend.
After the Portrait Session
In the following days after the portrait session, I will send you a couple of sneak previews. If you are sharing the photographs on social media, I would be grateful if you could tag me.
The full set of images will be ready within 4-6 weeks.Access to your Online Gallery
4-6 weeks after your wedding day, I will send you a link to your personalised online viewing gallery. The gallery will allow you to download the high resolution images and also allow you to share your photos with your loved ones. Within the viewing gallery, you can also order artisanal products from the online store such as handmade prints & bespoke frames to bring your images to life.
FAQ
2 hours for a portrait session seems short. Is it enough?
2 hours generally allow for 2 nearby locations and is long enough to capture the honest connection between you both, but yet short enough that it doesn’t feel too contrived and tiresome. I’ve never been a fan of posed photography so I feel like anything more than 2 hours pushing into the realm of fashion photography where it can be very cold and forced. During a wedding day, I generally only set aside 45 mins for portraits.
Do you travel for portrait sessions?
Yes of course!
Depending on the location, travel fees might apply. What should we wear for our portrait session?
Wear whatever you are comfortable with - in line with the vision you are going for the shoot. Keep in mind the sessions are tailored to be more casual in nature.
We are keen on capturing an intimate home session. Would you be open to that?
Yes!
I’m open to anything you are keen on. I love the idea of a lazy morning lying in bed with messy hair and pyjamas. The weather forecast is not looking good. Can we reschedule?
Yes of course! A big part of getting good photographs is having good light, and so weather has a significant influence on our session together. I’m happy to reschedule our session if it means we both get a better outcome.
I’m also booking you for my wedding day. Is there a discount?
Yes! If you choose any package together with a wedding day package, you will receive a 10% discount off the portrait package.
